Who We Serve

MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY^*

We are proud to serve Northlanders who live, work, worship, or attend college or university in Minnesota's St. Louis and Carlton counties. Minors are welcome with an adult to sign as Joint assuming full legal responsibility; membership eligibility is required of either minor or adult joint. As a bedrock business in the Northland, we welcome owners of businesses or other legal entities in Minnesota's St. Louis and Carlton counties.

Online Membership Application

Use the button below to apply online for a Share Advantage Credit Union membership. For youth memberships and business memberships, please apply in-person at one of our offices.

In-Person Steps to Membership

• 1.To share in the advantages of any of our services a Share/Savings Account must be established. A $10 membership Share is required.^**
• 2.Please bring a valid State or Federal photo ID. If you've recently moved, a current dated document with your full name and current address is required (ex: utility bill, rental agreement). Non-residents who work or attend school in the counties we serve are required to provide current dated proof of employment/enrollment (ex: paycheck with stub, Employee/Student photo ID or other document).
• 3.You will need to provide your Social Security Number.^***

In-Person Steps to Business Membership

In addition to the requirements above, new business memberships need to show original documentation including but not limited to:

• 4.EIN Tax ID
• 5.Based on business type: Certificate of Assumed Name, Articles of Organization, and/or Articles of Incorporation.

Important Information about Opening a New Membership Account

 To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask to see a valid State or Federal photo ID and/or other identifying documents. We will ask for your full name, address, date of birth, social security number and other identifying information.

^* PROOF OF ELIGIBILITY & IDENTITY REQUIRED. Current government issued photo ID required. Additional current dated supporting documents may be required if your current government issued photo ID does not state your current residential address is within Minnesota's St. Louis or Carlton counties, see below.

^** $10 membership Share is reserved in member's savings for lifetime of membership. Funds are released when membership is closed; funds are non-returnable if membership is closed within six months of opening.

^*** All new memberships, Joint members, and checking accounts are verified through ChexSystems.
